Descent into the giant crater of Faial

The descent into the giant crater of Faial is one of the Azores' most hidden and well-kept secrets. With an experienced and licensed nature guide, you descend 400 m into the Caldeira and experience a landscape like Jurassic Park. Natural springs and small lakes, green plants and gnarled branches await you down there - it's not without reason that the crater landscape is a nature reserve. You've probably never been closer to a volcano before.
The tour depends on the weather conditions and your good personal fitness - this is a prerequisite for this difficult hike!

Equipment: trekking shoes required, soiled hiking clothes are to be expected at the end; don't forget snacks and water.
Duration: 3-7 hours (depending on fitness and walking speed of the participants)
