Whether from the shore or from the deck of a boat, whale watching is an activity that attracts more and more enthusiasts from all over the world and also in the Azores. In addition to the conservation of nature, whale watching helps to deepen the research of the animals observed. As a transit point for all those crossing the Atlantic, the islands are a privileged place for observation. The diversity of species found here is great. it can be said that few places in the world are as good for observing some of these species.

The tours are carried out in the morning and afternoon between April and October from/to the port of Horta
Duration: the tour lasts about 3 hours (or more, if the whales are further away) and is carried out in two different boats. The boat "José Azevedo" offers space for 45 people and the boat "Baleias Expresso" has space for 16 people. The boats are divided according to need, so it is not clear in advance which one you are touring with
Please note that a minimum number of participants is required, since this is an excursion in larger boats: for "Baleias Expresso" there are 6 people, for "José Azevedo" there are 12 people. It may be that there are not enough participants on some days, so it makes sense to have alternative days available
