Whilst visiting most of the major points of interest, we will give you an insight on the everyday’s life on an island in the middle of the Atlantic. This tour is perfect for those who are interested in the culture of our island. Faial, life on the island, takes you around the island, in the morning you will see the best beach, the impact of the earthquake of 1998, the traces of the period of whaling and of course the volcano of Capelinhos. At lunch time, we will have a rich picnic in one of the recreational parks of Faial. In the afternoon, you will visit a cheese factory and an organic banana plantation, both representing two important economic activities of Faial. During our tour you will visit the following places: Praja do Almoxarife - Igreija da Riberinha - Farol da Riberinha - Porto do Salão - Fajã da Praia do Norte - Vulcão dos Capelinhos - Porto do Comprido - Varadouro - Castelo Branco cheese factory - Organic banana plantation - Miradouro da Lajinha.

This full-day tour lasts around 7-8 hours and takes you to various places on the island of Faial that are associated with the history of whaling. Some of these places still play a role in whale watching today. For those who have already been on a whale watching trip, this tour can be the perfect complement. In any case, the tour allows you to get to know the subject intensively without having to go on rocking boats.
The tour "Faial, whales, then and now" first takes you along the south coast of the island - from Horta to the Capelinhos volcano. At lunchtime, you can enjoy a sumptuous picnic in one of Faial's attractively designed leisure parks. In the afternoon, the tour takes you to various whale-watching posts and places from which the small whaling boats set sail in the days of whaling. Back in Horta, you will visit the interesting and informative whaling museum. The full-day tour lasts around 7-8 hours and shows you how volcanoes, earthquakes and the climate have shaped Faial and its inhabitants. Faial, the power of the earth tour is ideal for those who are interested in what life is like on a volcanic island. The tour takes you along the south coast from Horta to the Capelinhos volcano. At lunchtime, you will enjoy a rich picnic in one of Faial's beautifully landscaped leisure parks. In the afternoon, you will visit the large Caldeira collapse crater, the lighthouse and the church of Riberinha, which were destroyed by an earthquake. During the day, you will visit various places where volcanism and seismic activity have left their mark.
