Whale and dolphin watching with OceanEmotion
The Azores are considered one of the best places in the world for whale and dolphin watching. 28 different species of whales and dolphins have been spotted in the waters around the Azores in recent years. This makes up about a third of the world's known cetacean species. As we are dealing with wild animals whose behavior remains unpredictable, a bit of luck is always required on every tour out to sea. But thanks to the keen eyes and good binoculars of our staff, coupled with great expertise and a wealth of experience, we have a very high sighting rate (around 99%) throughout the year. With every trip, we contribute to the research and conservation of these fascinating marine mammals by documenting, evaluating and publishing our observations. We also contribute to environmental education on our island. The aim of this is to sensitize the next generation to the conservation of marine mammals and their natural environment. Enjoy your trip and everything you experience as a great gift of nature.
