This accommodation with four separate holiday homes on one site is located in Pontas Negras, a small community of about fifty houses, in the southeast of the island of Pico. The closest small village is about 2 km away, while the next bigger town is Lajes, with a large supermarket, restaurants, cafés, and various whale watching providers. The latter can be reached in about ten minutes by car. The four cottages are built of black lava stone with elements of typical 19th century country houses. Originally built by the current owners’ grandfather, nicknamed “Vinagreiro” (winemaker) on his return from America, the restored cottages are now equipped with all amenities of modern life though they remain furnished in a simple and functional style. The self-catering holiday homes with two or three bedrooms each are very inexpensive by Azores standards. They are all equipped with additional sofa beds to provide plenty of space even for families. The accommodation’s spacious sun terraces afford picturesque views of the surrounding countryside and the beautiful blue Atlantic Ocean. This accommodation is ideal for travellers who appreciate peace and beautiful nature, who enjoy self-catering, and wish to keep their holiday budget low.
