Whale watching and swimming with dolphins in São Miguel

The tours take place from/to the harbor in Vila Franca do Campo on the south coast of the island.

Whale watching:
This tour begins with a 20-minute briefing. Here you will get crucial information about the excursion and about the flora and fauna of the underwater world of the island. You will also be introduced to the communication and behavioral patterns of the whales. A marine biology guide will be on hand on every trip to give you detailed information. You are also welcome to ask specific questions to brush up on your knowledge. The animals are observed from land and the boats are guided by radio to the respective spots. The excursion lasts approx. 2.5 hours and is offered all year round. A special feature of this excursion is that it takes you past the "rocky islet" off Vila Franca do Campo, a true nature paradise that juts out of the sea.

Swimming with dolphins:
This is an experience you and your family will never forget. In the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, you will experience unforgettable moments when you get so close to the dolphins. Many people report about their sensations after the tour: happiness, liberation, relaxation and emotional release. You`ll forget about your everyday-life for a moment and become part of the underwater world with the dolphins. Your marine biologist tour guides will accompany you and leave no questions unanswered. A wetsuit and snorkeling mask will be provided for you. The excursion lasts approx. 2.5 hours and is offered from May 1 to September 30.
