Quinta do Canavial

The pension Quinta do Canavial is located on a slope on the edge of Velas, the main town of São Jorge. It offers its guests a simple accommodation in a very friendly family atmosphere. After a day of exploring nature, enriched with the view of an impressive rocky coast, it’s very convenient to relax in the expansive area with a small pool and various sitting areas. The view from the breakfast room and the lounge along with the flair of a local history museum is very unique. The friendliness and helpfulness of the local owner-couple are very inviting.

Rooms: simple and functional rooms in several houses, all with private bathroom
Meals: breakfast (simple buffet), dinner is sometimes possible upon reservation and request (menu)
Others: no acceptance of credit cards; the host is an excellent cook, it is highly recommended to try to book a dinner in the Quinta; hiking transfers can also be booked through the accommodation
