Quinta Perpétua

Quinta Perpétua is located on the south side of the still very unspoiled island of Graciosa, the smallest of the five central group islands, surrounded by beautiful nature. The accommodation is nestled on the slope of the island's largest volcano and is home to three separate vacation homes. The former, traditional Azorean stone farmstead and its neighboring house have been lovingly restored, supplemented with a new part of the building and thus transformed into today's accommodation. The buildings of the quinta are grouped around a romantic courtyard with plants and various seating areas. The owners, a couple from Germany, also live in the quinta and lovingly look after their guests, the grounds and their three four-pawed feline residents. Enjoy fantastic views of the sea, the neighboring islands of São Jorge and Faial and the Pico volcano, the highest mountain in Portugal, from the accommodation. The Quinta's 6000 m² garden has been beautifully landscaped with many hedges and natural stone walls and offers secluded spots to relax. Quinta Perpétua is located very close to the center of the village of Luz with its supermarket and bar. Just a short drive from the accommodation is the Carapacho thermal baths with a paved natural outdoor swimming pool. The warm, mineral-rich water is said to be beneficial for rheumatism and skin conditions. Walking and hiking enthusiasts will get their money's worth. Directly behind the accommodation, a footpath leads to a circular path below the crater rim of the Caldeira. From there, you can enjoy magnificent views of all sides of the island, sometimes peppered with unforgettable sunsets. Inside the not yet extinct volcano “Furna do Enxofre”, sulphur fumaroles bubble at the edge of an impressive magma chamber made of basalt rock. In the forest on the crater floor you will find idyllic, fully equipped public barbecue and picnic areas for free use. Quinta Perpétua is an ideal place for travelers who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of big cities and seek tranquillity and peace in beautiful natural surroundings.

Casa Corvo (T1 / 36 m²): 2003 completely restored and fully equipped vacation home with one bedroom (2 single beds, can be combined into a double bed or separated by screen) in gallery, accessible via a spiral staircase and cozy living area (with wood stove, versatile library, stereo system, music CDs, audio books and various games), with small, fully equipped kitchen (4-burner electric hob, separate oven, fridge with small freezer compartment, toaster, kettle, capsule coffee machine and French press) and private bathroom (with towels and hairdryer) in the lower part of the house, terrace area in front of the house with seating and parasol and private entrance directly in the inner courtyard; additional space for suitcases, jackets and shoes in the adjoining wine cellar (Adega)
Casa Pico (T1 / 54 m²): 2005 completely restored and fully equipped vacation home with separate bedroom (2 single beds, can be combined into a double bed or separated by a screen and large built-in wardrobe), living room with dining area, small gas heater, versatile library, stereo system, music CDs, audio books, various films and games, fully equipped kitchenette (with 4-burner electric hob, separate oven, fridge with small freezer compartment, toaster, kettle, capsule coffee machine and French press), private bathroom (with towels and hairdryer), large covered terrace with beautiful garden and sea views
Casa Flores (T1 / 50 m²): Completely renovated and restored in 2012, fully equipped and very individually furnished vacation home with original charm, has a comfortably furnished, combined living room and bedroom (with electric radiator and garden view, stereo system, music CDs, audio books, various games and versatile library), large kitchen (equipped with 2-burner electric hob, separate electric hotplate, separate oven, fridge with small ice compartment, toaster, kettle, capsule coffee machine and French press as well as historic oven and fireplace), private bathroom (with underfloor heating, towels and hairdryer), cupboard and wardrobe in the entrance area of the house and private terrace
Meals: Self-catering, breakfast with fruit and vegetables from our own garden and many fresh ingredients served in the hosts' house can be booked for €15 per person per day
Other: A total of four bicycles can be borrowed from the accommodation (free of charge)
