Hotel Ocidental

Hotel Ocidental is located on the east side of the island of Flores, in Santa Cruz, the island’s largest town. Built in 1992 and just renovated in 2016, this typical country hotel (please do not expect any modern furnishings and equipment) is located right next to the rocky coast, no more than about 50 meters from the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. The centre of Santa Cruz is within easy walking distance, as are some restaurants, cafes, shops, and a large supermarket. The museum of the former whale-processing factory is near the hotel, affording highly interesting information on the history of whaling and the way whales were industrially processed in the past. Enjoy magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean right from the hotel’s garden. The cool water of the outdoor pool serves to refresh visitors on hot days, while comfortable deck chairs directly by the pool invite to relax in after a bath. The hotel’s bar serves cool drinks after an eventful day of exploring.
