Snorkeling on São Miguel

Leave the solid ground beneath your feet and embark on an exciting journey to explore the wonderful world below the surface of the water. Explore the marine fauna and flora in the magical, crystal-clear Atlantic ocean accompanied by a certified guide. An inflatable boat (Zodiac) will take you to the most exciting places. We highly recommend a snorkeling excursion to the Ilhéu de Vila Franca nature reserve, a volcanic cone that is partially submerged. In the magical ambience of the cone, you can discover a wide variety of sea creatures and interestingly shaped rocks. On the way there, you have the opportunity to spot the remains of once sunken ships on the seabed - cannons from the 16th century can still be found in this area today. Before the excursion, the trained guides give all participants a thorough briefing on the equipment with lots of practical tips on the right swimming and snorkeling techniques to prepare you optimally for the excursion and ensure it is as safe as possible. The snorkeling trip is suitable for all ages and could be an exciting excursion for the whole family. You do not need any previous experience.
