Jeep safari on São Miguel; Sete Cidades and Lagoa do Fogo

A jeep tour on São Miguel provides a nice mixture of adventure and convenience. Paths that are impassable for normal cars, can be handled by jeeps with ease. Sometimes it requires good nerves when the slope drops steeply next to the path. But after all, it’s about that little adventure on this tour, right?

This tour leads along the crater rim of Sete Cidades, past viewpoints that allow an unforgettable view of the green and blue lakes. The next stop is in Ferraria, providing a natural swimming pool, heated by a volcano fissure at low tide. Here you have the opportunity go for a swim in the natural pool. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant, halfway to Lagoa do Fogo. In the afternoon the tour continues to the charming nature reserve of Lagoa do Fogo. Experience nature at its best. Breathtaking views at the top of the crater rim are a must for everybody’s photo shoot. The last destination of the tour is the Caldeira Velha, a ferruginous warm waterfall. Here a bath is absolutely recommendable.
